i was going to wait to upload this track until i had a higher-quality method of getting it off my nintendo switch than the cheap usb interface i use and/or when i had more tracks to go along with it on an ep, maybe some vocals, maybe an extended edit......

i decided not to because i just like listening to this over and over and i didn't want to keep carrying around my switch to do so.

it's my favorite track i've ever made, mainly because it's pretty much the exact sound i've constantly craved hearing since middle school, and it's one of the best instances of me successfully executing exactly what i had pictured (heard?) in my mind's eye (ear?) before i began working on it. i'm especially proud of the string progression and the drums, which i programmed by hand on like 4 or 5 different virtual drum machines, including one based on the soundtrack of one my favorite shmups, Fantasy Zone. turns out when i'm not limited by my ability to actually play the drums i can come up with some really nice rhythms.

so i hope you like it a lot, but honestly i don't care if you don't because i'm just going to listen to it a lot either way. but if you do like it please tell me because i thrive on praise.
